Engine mounts.... oil filled?
Td5 engine mounts, the round metal based things.

Are they oil filled? whilst under my 110 just now topping up gearbox oil and greasing the props, I noticed that one of the mounts has what looks like to have had a major oil leak! (well, black fluid), coming out of the top of it and enough to drip onto the axle casing.

the other mount has a slight bit of black stuff, but not as much.

Looking from up above there's no sign of anything above the cast engine mount itself (so nothing has leaked from above "down"),

Has anyone had this before? vibrations don't seem any worse, although this could have been a gradual thing so maybe a new pair of mounts will make things nice and smooth.

Cheers all

Nah don't think it is, looks more like a leak than just dribbled out water.

I'm wondering if the neoprene has started to break down and the heat of the engine is softening it and it's oozing out.

Hmmm interesting thread that one ^^^^ just like mine, an "oil leak" from the mounts.

Driving it yesterday there's definately a slight more vibration to the engine... think I'll get a couple of mounts and see how it improves.

So I assume you didn't change the oil at the given interval? Whistle Roel

Will be keeping a keen eye on whether it solves the leak!
