Collapsing Air Filter
Friend showed me on his unknown tuned TD5 the airfilter was all crushed, it has a snorkel fitted and a hybrid turbo on it.
I've never seen this before to a standard filter. Any advice on how to solve this ?

Has the water separator been removed from the air box? It's a static fan looking thing in the incoming air duct if it's there Thumbs Up

Removal of this can make the filter soggy to the point that it is so restrictive that the turbo starts to suck it in.

The extra restriction of the snorkel will exacerbate this Thumbs Up 2002 90 Td5 Station Wagon

It only happens if they get really wet or wet regulary. I never had that problem yet, but had some wet filters. Twisted Evil

But now I have a snorkel and no wet filters anymore.

Yep standard paper filter, he has a Mantec snorkel with a mushroom pre cleaner on it.

Probably very restrictive intake then. The same happened to my old 90 but only when the paper filter was totally blocked with mud!
