add https so login is secured?
Currently defender2.net uses a self-signed certificate (which will generate a warning with most browsers) so most people will connect with http.

When using http the login credentials are not encrypted so the credentials may be intercepted by a hacker.
Recently my Firefox browser started warning about this (which is annoying but useful as it prompts me to write this).

Would it be possible to only allow https connections and to switch to a certificate signed by a certificate authority?
It is not expensive and would help in securing the site.

Clever stuff which can't even start to understand the pro's and con's but do also get the warning of non-secure site. Will follow with interest. Thank you. Thumbs Up James

Cheapest way to do this would be to use,
https://letsencrypt.org/

Its free and depending on your website admin tool (Plesk) there is often a easy way to install and use it.

Sorry just seen this.

This is on the cards, I have implemented it on the new site at www.DISCO5.CO.UK and it's not totally straightforward. But it will be done, just bear with me Smile  1988 90 Td5 NAS soft top

Good to hear!
By coincidence I am actually in a hotel now and switched from hotel wifi to 4g to prevent my password from being seen by other guests on same wifi network.
