Exhaust Fumes in cabin
Anybody had exhaust fumes in the cabin??

One of the 110 td5 station wagons I look after at work came back the other day with the driver looking a bit ill Shocked

They only went a short distance

They did not have the blower on or windows open but they did when they came back Laughing

All the door seals are good & I stuffed a rag up the exhaust to see if I cud hear any leaks from the exhaust system. Poss centre box leaking???

Any other ideas??

Thanks Chris

Had this twice - first was the exhaust manifold being badly warped, second time was the EGR blanking plate bolts having worked their way loose somehow during a trip - wouldn't be the only thing you'd notice though!

I had this when the turbo to cat joint failed.

Can diesel fumes kill in the same way as petrol fumes?
My TD5 110 CSW will often draw in exhaust smells when stationary but only if the blower fan is on.
l have checked everything, including complete exhaust replacement, exhaust manifold, new FPR, EGR delete kit, etc but it's still there.
lt only happens when stationary and only sometimes, l am guessing if the wind blows the fumes towards the front (where the heater intake is) from the exhaust?
I do have a new heater/bulkhead seal to fit as sonebody suggested that.

This is happening to me at the moment post fitting a new down pipe and replacement mid section. I have checked all over and cant see a leak. Will investigate further as I guess it could be the manifold. Without the cat the fumes smell different and are much more noticeable so I expect it has been happening for a while but I have not noticed.
