I fitted the rear first and the front a few days later so I can't comment on the effects of just the front ARB. I can say that it has made a difference to the handling.. smoother, not as bumpy and less roll.. more planted, if you could ever say that about a 90 Wink

Did you get someone to weld the rear brackets on for you? I have the front brackets but not the rears. Defender TD5 90 ---/--- Peugeot 306 HDI hatch back

I was lucky as my chassis had the brackets on, it is a Marsland galvanised one.

looks like I have a touch of French electrics, My indicator relay has jammed by the looks of it, so every time I turn either way all four lights flash. I wouldn't have been any the wiser until some fella, wound his window down to tell me. Also tonight there, the dash lights have gone out too. So looks like the loom upgrade maybe on the cards sooner than thought, and a replacement relay from my spares. Defender TD5 90 ---/--- Peugeot 306 HDI hatch back

a few little things are on order too, so watch this space Wink If things are ok tomorrow, ( weather wise) I will sort the indicator system out. Looks like I will have to order the light loom to sort this light problem out. Smile Defender TD5 90 ---/--- Peugeot 306 HDI hatch back

well tonight there, while we had a break in the rain, I managed to get cracking on with my dad after we both come in from work. I had ordered off a couple of odds and sods ( basically repairs and a couple of upgrades)
1st up was replace that hazard switch, with a replacement one. this one is a lucas part, This one is the replacement to the one I replaced a couple of months ago!

The other item was to replace/upgrade the interior mirror, These are a Censored to start with anyway, One of the screws had to be drilled out which has turned into a right old pain Crying or Very sad You can see the old wiper blade too.

It's all the little things that make a difference! Thumbs Up

Also... how do you get to 60mph??? Wink

Profyaffle, the indicators are working as they should now, One word of warning, buy the lucas switches, the others don't seem to last the distance. This one looks like its lasted 3 months if that.

How do I get to 60 mph plus, Well that involves going down hill with the foot right to the floor through the gears Laughing
Only gripe with that one is some arse deciding to slow down, so you lose the run Crying or Very sad Defender TD5 90 ---/--- Peugeot 306 HDI hatch back

well today I did another replacement/upgrade. Me and my dad swopped over the steering damper,

So my steering feels a lot more positive now, and more stable steering too.
Coming a long strong now, Suspension is nearly changed over, Got to do the bump stops and fit a front anti roll bar, then that's suspension sorted until I sort out a rear anti roll bar.

I am looking at moving onto electrical stuff I think next, Head Light loom replacement etc and look at that rear door,
Also look at serving the car too at some point and repair the air box brackets. Defender TD5 90 ---/--- Peugeot 306 HDI hatch back

Looking very smart.. Does the steering damper make a big difference then? Mine is standard but tbh the steering isn't that wooly... or maybe I'm just used to it? Wink
How are the electrical gremlins doing, have you got to the bottom of them yet?

The steering damper made things more positive and I have lost the wooly that I had Worth it mind, over the old unit, ( due to age)
I have now got another problem, my fuel neck is leaking, They have fitted a new tank recently, but there is a problem where it meets the rubber hose for the fuel neck. So a new neck and rubber hose is on order and I will have to buy the clamps for it two, I am not arsing about, just going to replace the full works.
The electrical side is a lot better but I still need that loom, for the lights. Fuel is the main thing, I have lost nearly a quarter of a tank since filling up! laugh is I haven't gone anywhere hardly! Defender TD5 90 ---/--- Peugeot 306 HDI hatch back

well today, after I did some over time in work there, ( what a way to spend a Saturday)
Me and my dad cracked on with the fuel side of things, the amount of diesel I have lost has been unreal!
what I have found today, the main fuel pipe clip was only just nipped up, the same goes for the smaller one.
When we removed the full smash, we found that the fuel neck had a small hole in too, and the small hose also had a split in too. I also tightened up the pick up on top of the tank, but looks like the gasket might need replacing ( one is on order)

check out the old rusty unit, My dad was shocked on how bad it was.

that's after a gentle tap with a screw driver!

the new unit made up,

and then installed.

So we have installed a galvanized neck and new rubber hoses and clips. So I hope that sorts out the main problem!
losing half of your diesel isn't funny! Sometimes I do wonder about mechanics, how slack the main pipe to the tank was, then how badly damaged the little pipe was too, All they did was replace the fuel tank and that was it, rather than spend the extra time in replacing the full smash.
Either do the job properly or not at all!
Also my mum had a drive of her too, she is used to the 200 TDi, she said mine has lighter pedals? and the gear box is different, She tried to put the car into reverse lol, instead of 4th gear Laughing that was due to her been used to the 200 gear box. Defender TD5 90 ---/--- Peugeot 306 HDI hatch back

Wow that is a bad little hole, good that you found it and hopefully that will sort out the extra use of the diesel Thumbs Up
I do agree about doing the job properly or not at all, Procta Thumbs Up 1996 Golf Blue 300Tdi 110 Pick up. Keeper.
