United Kingdom 2008 Defender 90 Puma 2.4 XS CSW Tonga Green
8 Years a Puma owner.
Same Puma, 2.4 90. Same cam belt. Clutch rattly sometimes. 35000 total miles including the 8500 when I bought it. Mainly country.

Larger tyres, winch, roll cage, brighter headlamps, extra rear fog & reverse lights. Differential & steering guards.

Still running well, love the motor but would like more torque at lower rpm.

May convert to auto or get servo clutch and if I become too inform for the clutch. Land Rover Defenders. 67 years heritage, minimal appearance changes, still going strong all over the world. Not a fashion vehicle, but fashionable to own. Made for the needy, not the greedy. Ta ta Defender

Same cam belt

That's impressive, considering they don't have a cam belt. Laughing

So that equates to around 3300 miles a year?

Not even run in yet!

Mines on 56k and approaching its tenth birthday.

Brakepads, clutch, Waterpump, tyre's, EGR.
Not too much else.

If you want more Torque the Alive stage 1 is the way to go. Thumbs Up Diesels Lives Matter. ⛽️🛢️👨‍🔧🧰⚙️

Got to be honest mine has done just under 40,000 I bought it new in July 2009. Most of that miles was country use checking sheep etc. I read about the cam belt not being replaced, what is the interval for replacement?
I have retired now I am keeping the landy as I like it and it tows the caravan.

The fan belt (aka Aux Drive Belt) has a 10 year change interval, but it doesn't hurt to change it sooner. Genuine belts aren't expensive. It's a simple job to change them, just takes a little patience.

None of the Puma engines have a Cam Belt though, they're all chain driven, which should in theory last the life of the engine.

Thanks foe the answer regarding the belt drive. I used to have a Discovery and was recommended to change at 70,000 orif it was used say on farm 35000. But anyway you have answered my question so I can sleep peacefully. Smile
