Ugggg. horror stories on both SG and PP. I dont have a fitter in mind here so was really wanting to try to fit myself....but having second thoughts now.

congrats, mazol tov, kudos etc etc to those that were able to do it without a pro fitting it! Bow down

ah, I'm just having a moan..

It was recent, so I am still sore. I'm sure that if this thread turned up in three weeks I'd be all 'yeah go for it!'

It wasn't a horror at all, just time consuming.

well thx for the info. I guess I will order one up. We just have a lack of mechanics and shops where I am located in the woods- no rover machanics that would help with the install or even know where to begin

i fitted a SD soft top 6 point setup to my 90, it was pretty straight forward and all went as per instructions. easy to do yes. just time consuming.

as an aside i had a North Off Road truck cab cage supplied and fitted by Shaun (before he sold the business) for £780 and its the best cage i have had! that was 10 years ago.

i would try North, well worth the call. Cheers

I built the cage up and drilled the wing holes whilst it was on. I struggle to trust templates.

Or to be more precise, I struggle to trust all Defenders are the same size.

In my case it wasn't the frame that didn't match but the internal leg that joins to the chassis, it was just a non-starter, I cant imagine there being any way with 'better' manufacturing that it could mate with the template hole as given.

Actually, hrrrm, unless maybe the puma is different? Solved the bowel problem, working on the consonants...
