Kelly kettle has a rubber or cork bung, the ghillie has a whistle therefore the ghillie gets my vote. The sound of boiling water steaming through the whistle is very very satisfying 2006 TD5110 station wagon

From reading this lot, it would appear that I'm the only one using a cheap and cheerful 'flat' gas stove...

However, I have a 'technique' that normally means I'm the first with a cup of tea in hand..

Over breakfast, boil the kettle and fill stainless flask

When stopped, light gas, put hot water into kettle and bring (almost immediately) to the boil

Make tea

Whilst tea is steeping, add cold water to kettle and put back on the gas

Drink tea

When kettle boils, refill the flask - repeat as required through the day...

Works for me!

Pretty much caching heat in the place you need it Thumbs Up .

You'd have to drink a lot of tea for it to be as fuel efficient though. Solved the bowel problem, working on the consonants...

I have a jetboil and a peak stove. Both are good at what they do. And depending on what I reach first when I go to the garage is what I use. With the jetboil, I use a big canister and with the peak I only use naptha. Seems my old boss was keen to let me have lots of it when we went "combat camping" Rolling with laughter . The storeman wouldn't order 1L tins, so only ordered 5L tins and of course I needed a new tin every time we went camping Thumbs Up . Still have a few tins left, even after 6yrs after leaving that job 110 D250 SE HT

I use one occasionally along with a Coleman dual fuel, which works better if there is a breeze

^ That's what I use currently,

I've spent too much on a new toy to warranty a fancy boiler of water so for now it will keep being used.

Its cheap, works and the gas is cheap, nothing wrong with that Thumbs Up

I use a Jetboil (great bitbof kit) but have just added a Kelly Kettle ULTIMATE kit! Awesome, fast to boil, super handy too as everything fits inside (2 plates, 2 cups, saucepan & lid, grill, pot stand, and hobo stove) to feed 2 people!

If you are just wanting to boil water for tea or soup then I would recommend the Alpkit Jackal or Wolf. Built in click lighter and you can use any screw type gas can.
https://www.alpkit.com/products/brukit-jackal

or an MSR Windburner. Brought one for the better half and she loves it. You can also get a wee coffee press attachment if ground coffee is your thing. Old school lighting system of a match! but it wont go out in the wind! again you can use any screw bottle of gas.

If you are planning on actually cooking... well frying a few bit of bacon! I use a Primus Omnifuel. An excellent piece of kit, very light weight and simple, can be stowed in a rucksac or a pocket in the car. Sounds like a jet engine when its going but other than that, Perfect!
You can use a normal gas can or burn pretty much anything using the fuel bottle, still to get a bit of Jet Grade kerosene to try!
