Alarm / CDL / Immobiliser
This one is proving to be a tough nut to crack and I am running out of options.

No central locking or alarm system blows fuse under seat (CDL) constantly. Possible link to horn / flash problem.

TIMELINE

Prior to this no horn or main beam flash fuse blew also constantly. Fitted new horn and switch cluster. Still fault.

3 weeks later. Car failed to unlock or turnover, ( immobilised ?)

Towed to main dealer (Bradleys) in Galway Ireland

They turned off alarm / immobiliser via software. They tried new 10AS could not get it to communicate with the ECU. Original refitted. Fuse under seat CDL 20 amp still blown

By passed system to get MOT live taken for horn/flash from the back of ignition cluster.

10AS unit sent away and checked. Result 10AS diagnosis passed refitted.

As soon as you try via software to turn system on vehicle goes dead. I am fed up with spending money on this. Can anyone recommend someone that can FIX the problem not just take a look. Help appreciated. Perhaps someone else has had the same problem ?

Thanks in anticipation

Sounds like a direct short somewhere. I would be checking the wiring in the rubber flexes between the pillars and doors Thumbs Up 2002 90 Td5 Station Wagon

Cheers

Problem sorted. Some advice
A massive thank you to grafty for suggesting this. I have had numerous 'specialists' try and diagnosis this all taking my hard earned to no avail. The worst offender was the local main dealer in Ireland Bradleys in Galway. Told me needed a new 10AS ( £400 ) unit and £70 to diagnose.

So the lesson is do not trust the main stealer. They turned off the alarm / CDL / immobiliser so they told me via software. I found three breaks in the wires door to B post both sides. Replaced with new wire and hey presto everything sorted including previous problems

They never touched the software

That's great news! Thumbs Up

Glad you got it sorted in the end. It's so frustrating - dealers seem to have no clue about diagnosis if it doesn't involve plugging it into a computer Big Cry 2002 90 Td5 Station Wagon
