Looking good grafty, Where did you get those seats from? Mine have seen better days have they not. So I am looking at a possible change over.
Also what do your old seats look like? I am sort of toying with the idea of going bucket, or staying with the land rover seats. But I do motorway miles so I need a little bit of lux. Defender TD5 90 ---/--- Peugeot 306 HDI hatch back

The seats came from IRB developments - another customer had ordered them and had a change of heart so I bought them Mr. Green

My current seats are standard XS Td5 seats which are the same shape as Tdi ones. This gives you an idea of what they look like (crappy image from google)

As standard the xs seats are heated - which is nice. I use mine quite a bit.

I find them really comfortable and have no problem driving without stopping until I need fuel Thumbs Up 2002 90 Td5 Station Wagon

Just to note that by putting the speedo healer before the ecu but after the speedometer - the displayed speed remains unchanged - only the ecu speed is changed.

The defender is wired

Speed transducer (transfer box)

Speedometer in dash binnacle (speed pulse doubled for ecu to read)
V
ECU receives pulse for cruise control etc

Thumbs Up

Perfect thanks Grafty, speedo healer on order Thumbs Up

Ref Bogwert's query about cruise control switches, I'm planning to use a D2 switch and mount in on the column besides the wiper stalk. Should be a bit tidier than the loose switches i have hanging out below the clock currently Embarassed

To make it work with standard gearing all you need is;

The control switches and some basic wiring from 12v then to the switches then on to the ecu.

I know this works from 2002 onwards Td5s but not sure about pre 2002.

If you have taller gearing (discovery transfer box etc) then all of the above applies except you also need a speedo healer to interrupt the speed signal going into the ecu.

This allows the ecu to see a slower speed that is actually occurring and so it stays within it's rpm vs speed parameters which it will go outside of with taller gearing.

Hopefully this helps Thumbs Up 2002 90 Td5 Station Wagon

Ideal pj2106 yeah will work on a 2003

Stiff1 Unfortunately it won't work on a puma. You'll need a separate cruise control unit from the likes of mobilecentre Thumbs Up 2002 90 Td5 Station Wagon
