Thumbs Up I really like those

I do like the look of yours Jodes, the few subtle changes make it stand out, mine's still mostly stock

I'm afraid the mudguards really were an exercise in vanity... the cost of them, then with the fabrication of the brackets, compared to a non OEM set was ridiculous but as soon as I saw them on a Heritage model I knew I needed them and the White logo just suits the paint. Land Rover won't actually sell you them without a Heritage chassis no.! Think I got mine from LRI solutions. I was the same with the hinges.... as soon as I put some Optimill window blocks on I then had to go round the whole truck or I wouldn't have been happy!

From my experience I would highly recommend buying a Japan Defender, unfortunately the current exchange rate plus the increase in value generally means they are quite a bit more expensive than a year/18 months ago but there may be a few already in the UK kicking around the auction circuit! The condition of them underneath is just amazing really... mine has some sun damage on one side which looks like slight pitting of the lacquer but I think it just adds patina (even rarer now I must have the only sun damaged defender in the UK!). My advice would be to try and buy one that has been kept on the road in japan..... the Shaken, which is their MOT equivalent (but I am led to believe it is a much more arduous biennial inspection) makes keeping an older vehicle on the road very costly so many get parked up in garages and forgotten about.

I feel I need to share my V8 sound...... any way to upload a video??

I do know where there is another Japanese spec which came over a month after mine (now Ians) . Not been touched since it arrived but I think it requires new engine (pressurised ) and some cosmetic work.

Can't believe the prices in Japan now Shocked

I'm in Tokyo in a couple of weeks time. I like the idea of going car shopping. I will see if I can find a 50th!
