Road Tyres
Can anyone suggest what size tyres I need for road use on Boost alloys on my 90 county station wagon. I currently have Cooper Discoverer STT 235/85 r16 fitted.
They make it very tight (height wise) driving into the garage. Would road tyres make the vehicle slightly lower? Confused Thanks
Robert

Road tyres are defined by their tread pattern rather than their height so that won't solve your problem.

Some alternatives are to fit smaller tyres - 90's used to be offered with 205/16 tyres, but they are pitifully small. Something like a 235/70 (standard Disco 1/Range Rover size) would fit but you'd need to change a small plastic gear in the transfer box that drives the speedo to make it read correctly.

Another option would be lowered springs. Quite a few on the forum have gone down this route to solve similar problems (or because they like the look) so a quick search will bring up some details. Darren

Slightly lower it would probable be your better option.
That way you keep axle clearance but you have a slightly reduced body height.
Alive have some good options I believe.
