Noob audio upgrade? 110 hardtop - Alpine CDE 133BT
I have finally managed to install an Alpine CDE 133BT in my 110 hardtop thanks to Nick Def90. Much improved over the very strange half head unit that I bought installed in the Defender.

So I have the Alpine Head Unit and I have the VERY standard speakers I assume. The rear speakers are so far away as to be irrelevant and the front speakers are.....well, not very good. I am driving around in a large empty tin can so I understand that i'm never going to get a fantastic sound but Im sure I can d better with a little outlay.

Any recommendations? I guess an amp and some new speakers? God knows where an amp would fit. Would rather not hack up the interior and use existing fixtures / holes etc.

Danke

An active sub is the cheapest way to make a big improvement and come as part of the audio upgrade from factory. Ray

6 1/2" fFocal upgrade will be a big help, but Ray is correct about an active sub. It will really fill in the sound, and is a pretty easy install.

Thanks guys. Is this simply a case of buying some and wiring in using existing wiring or is it more complicated?

I really do mean 'noob'.....!

Rca leads and the remote wire (usually blue) from the back of the stereo and a live from the battery and earth close to where the sub is mounted Thumbs Up music sounds much more complete with a sub as the tiny speakers in a defender can't handle any bass Ray
