Blackhat, VT is more then likely 'cheating' as far as the UK members are concerned.
He will be using those new fangled EU units inflicted on the rest of Europe by Brussels know as kilometres They use a smaller unit of distance so that the distance seems greater with a bigger number. 380,000 km is about 245,000 miles. Our red 110 96 model bought in 97 has about 212,000 miles on with about 2/3rds of that mileage done abroad. Recently had to have a new alternator fitted as it stalled the engine! Brendan |

Haha, well you have a point there
I'll try and do my best to get the equivalent of 380000 km in miles on it, but to get to that won't be easy at my age... I know of one 200Tdi well above 400k for sure, and have heard second hand about several Tdis over 500k but not seem them myself. Mine is only on 283k so 50k behind yours. Should hit 300k around June/July time at current annual mileage. Only downside of a Td5 instrument pack - I don't get to watch the numbers all turn round on big ones any more! |

400.000 truly amazing . and 500k, wow, just shows you ,good clean Oil and filters do the trick , I change every 5000mls, my Turbo is still original, I"v seen Disco"s blow turbo"s at 120.000 , is this due to lack of servicing ,/

Very much so due to the lack of servicing as mine is serviced every 6000 miles and as yours, mine is still the original turbo
Those mileage numbers are amazing and something to go for 1996 Golf Blue 300Tdi 110 Pick up. Keeper. Clayton. |
