TD5 Injector Balance - Nanocom - Noisy Injectors
Hi All. Just getting to grips with being able to monitor my TD5s systems. Should of got a Nanocom long before now, already massively useful.

So, wondering if anyone can advise on these injector readings;

These were recorded whilst at idle and still. These injectors have all covered 170k miles and have had a number of new o-rings, sealing washers and injector looms as a matter of routine servicing.

Recently the injectors have begun to sound quite noisy, really quite clackety, definitely not as sweet as before. I am fairly sure that the injector balancing data should if all is well be throwing out values of no more than +3/-3. Is that right?

Do these injector readings look ok? It'd be great to see what other poeples TD5 readings look like if anyone feels like plugging theirs in and posting the graphs.

Also, are the spikes in the idle error graph related to the injector readings and is it something to be concerned about?

Haven't played around enough with the nanocom to work out how to do that with the graphs but can put it on tomorrow at some point.

Hi Cactus. That'd be great, many thanks in advance. Be warned: once you start down this Nanocom route it does have the tendancy to become quite addicitve... Whistle Whistle

Yes and you find more potential problems then there really are. Twisted Evil

I just have the old style Nanocom with a small problem, it doesn't want to communicate with my Laptop. But on the injectors being between -3 and 3 I think that is ok. I never looked into that indetail so I don't know if that fluctuation that you see is common.

The spikes in the rpm. I don't know what caused that. Roel

Have you tried extra bulkhead sound proofing?
If you fit sound proofing you won't hear the injector noise and then there's no need to worry about it any more.

HA too true Lightning... The problem however is that I did fit extra sound proofing and it seems the injectors are adapting to my new defences...

First step is to whip off the rocker cover and check all the clearances are A-OK. Then I guess see where we go from there. I did get a quote for a set of 5 recond' units just for interest sake - £1500 exchange for your old units... Shocked Shocked Funny enough cotton wool in the ears seems to work pretty well too...
