Darn mobile - somehow, the gallery does not work - but here's the promised image Whistle

Gentlemen, do you see anything unusual in this picture? Rolling Eyes

An extra washer on one?

£850 to change them and they can't count up to 2?

Or am I mistaken?

You are exactly right. 850 quid for bad counting

And one injector washer wasn't probably changed at all. It had seized since ages, apparently, we had to pry it off. But of course they charged me for this one as well back when the copper washers were "fixed".

Frick.

Such a fundamental oversight. I would not be pleased were I in your position.

Yes, I'm rather angry at them and will check legal remedies today ...Agentmulder, how did your operation unfold?

No operation yet...

I don't know what I don't know about it, so I'm scared I'll open something that will require special tools to get it back together.

I have however ordered a new VCV valve though, cheap enough to try, and with the BAS RR2 tool I can do pump learn and so on.

I was reading up on them and how a faulty VCV will not trigger faults (which I am not doing on my diagnostic tool), may cause knocking and can also cause hunting RPM on idle which was the 'ah ha! maybe that's it!' moment as I've got this recently too.

So anyway, plan is: new valve in, re-remap to standard map, pump learn and pilot correction, then remap again..

Fingers crossed it'll purr again like new..

VCV solved it.
