MAF sensor

Hi All.

Had a MAF sensor failure today, think it crept up on me. Total loss of power/acceleration, thought it was fuel filter to start with, but on disconnecting the sensor it was like I had another bunch of horses under the bonnet.

Question- apart from adjusting the fuel/air ratio what eles does it connect with and can I run without it over the holiday period, have a run from bristol down the M5 tommorow.

Volt meter reading of 0.02 volts at tick over , as per the test on BAS site

Yes you can run it but it will be lumpy
On a brighter note I have a brand new one sitting in my office

Duckworths do them for £120, yours for £100 including P&P

Did you sort it EWS?

Picking up on this info:

The diagram suggests testing for the approx 2vdc idling output at Pin 3 whilst the text states Pin 2.

Can anyone please confirm?

Hi Screbble.

Still running with MAF unpluged, have not noticed any problems, drives like it should . Have a cheapo one in the spares box just have not got round to fitting it, will purchase a VDO one in the next day or so.

Just pull the plug and tuck it away and run with out it, you should notice the difference, in my case it was an .
amazing increase in performance.

Pin 2 is the feed out and pin 3 the ground, so I understand.

I pushed dress making pins through the insulation to get a reading, to clip on the voltmeter.

Somewhere on here is a post from Dorsetsmith, explaining the workings , seen it today but cant seem to find it again.
