2005 Cairns Blue 110 SW
Hi all

Introducing my lovely new 110 which I've had for about a month now and I'm loving it. It's been 16 years since I gave up my old V8 90 so glad to be back in the saddle.

The car is in pretty good condition bearing in mind it's 11 years old. Only done 70k so barely broken in!

There are a few jobs that need doing though and I have a few uplifts which I'm also planning. Ultimately I want to keep it fairly standard and refresh parts as and when needed. I'm no mechanic but would like to get stuck in myself wherever possible so hopefully will be getting some good advice from all the helpful people on this site.

First pic was as I picked it up. The lights, grill and Hannibal roof rack have been powder coated in white so job no 1 is to replace them with standard and strip the powdercoat from the roof rack.

Will post more photos as I make changes.

So the white powder coated roof rack came off today to be stripped back to natural aluminium. Going to be a bit of a mammoth job but satisfying once done. I think it will be worth it in the end to improve the overall look.

Finished the rear ladder and step yesterday and very happy with the result. After much research opted for gasket remover to strip the powder coat and surprisingly brasso works a treat removing corrosion from the base aluminium without too much effort.

Like the idea of an appreciation thread. Would be great to see a few examples with different mods etc. Will keep an eye out. Wink

Tint it.

I did it for looks, cooler in the summer and added security as less easy to look in the rear.

Cool!

What's the spect like from the interior? Does it take a bit of getting used to?

All good, passengers like it and it has added benefit at night for cars and their over bright headlights behind you are less bright on the eyes.

From a driver perspective I am not even aware of the tints now, just took a day or so to get used to them.. All my cars now have tints, so much better

The Hannibal rack has finally been stripped of the white powder coat after being blasted with fine glass grit. Really pleased with the end result. Gave him a wash n'all as a treat.
