And I was one of those D3 and now a D4 owner who watches this site to see if any real news.

I did have a Mk 2 FFRR . Went off LR due to reliability or rather none. Bought Isuzu - completely reliable but got stuck off road.

Then got a D3 - best multi purpose car ever for me - towing my yacht, motorway cruising, load shifting, off roading and wholly reliable. D4 bit too blingy for me but it was my last firm's car before retirement.

But the D5 - no. Just like the other SUVs. V expensive.

So I'll wait and wait but eventually if no Defeaner replacement I'm back to buying Japanese.

I'll say this quietly.........Toyota Land Cruiser 70 Series Embarassed

Interesting they are planning to release in the USA as there is a demand for it. It's only euro 5, but you can import - you'd also have to get the 4.2 turbo diesel. We had one with us in Morrocco and dare I say it, as a package it was better than my Defender.

I'd have one (keep the Defender though).

I can't believe that you would sell a Defender and buy any of those vehicles for me it would be back to the future.

Whilst no direct news on the new defender, it's worthwhile to hear the latest public comments from Speth:

"With the amount of land we have, we could theoretically bring our three British production plants to Slovakia, but we don't want to shift any production. We have quite a high capacity utilization in the U.K., and we want to maintain that."
