Hi guys!
If someone have interest we are preparing the biannual meeting of our club to be held between Jan 22 and Jan 27 - 2017. This time we will visit some of the nicest part of the Carretera Austral starting in Puyuhuapi and ending in Puerto Rio Tranquilo. The program as follows: Day 1 Afternoon-Nigth: Welcome in Puyuhuapi. Dinner together and acomodations in Puyuhuapi (camping and hostels are available) Day 2: Visit and trekking to the Hanging glacier in the Queulat national park. On site lunch. Dinner and accomodation in Puyuhuapi. Day 3: Morning moving to Coyhaique through the Qeulat slopes with a wonderful view to several glaciers (233 km of gravel road). Lunch on site. Dinner and accomodation in Coyaique. several hotels and cabins are available. Also camping. Time to get provisions and to repair the landies if needed. Day 4: Morning moving to Puerto Rio Tranquilo (217 km) Visit to Parque Nacional Cerro Castillo, Dinner and accomodation in Puerto Rio tranquilo (campings and some cabins available) Day 5: Visit to Rio Exploradores glacier using a road that borders one renmant continental ice sheet. several wonderful vievs (320 km round trip) Day 6: Visit to the marble cathedrals. Farewell barbecue and goodbye. The scheme is ,as we said in Chile, "everyone kills its own pig" that means that every one is in charge to seek for lodging and paid its own meals. No previous fee is required. Obviously we have help of locals to get good places. Some pictures just to open the appetite...
