Steering wheel vibration
Need help please. I have steering wheel vibration starting at 55mph to 65 ish. The off side inside edge of the front tyre is wearing. I have had the wheels balanced tracking checked all ok. A wheel bearing has been tightened and a new ball joint fitted. Still have the problem. I then was told that the tyres I had on were 7 years old and maybe the problem. Have now fitted new bf Goodrich all train on wolf rims but the problem still remains.

One other thing it could be is the steering damper. 90 wolf - Jasmin http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic39408.html

I did change the steering damper about 10 months ago. That was the first thing I did. Cheers.

Had the same thing a few years back and did the same things over time - balanced wheels, new steering damper, bushes replaced and so on. No change.

I then got the swivels serviced and pre-load set properly and it completely solved it. Dave

Finally got round to this. Started with the obvious, balancing, got lucky and it seems good to go now. Just thought I would update.

Some people said that a culprit are warped brake disks (I'm not sure if 2004 model have it) but worth to check. Eduardo
