Fitted my new Wipac Crystals and Wipac side / indicators
OK (and thanks to those who helped quickly to my post about the reflector in the main light)

I decided I couldn't wait....for the rears to arrive...

Headlamps from http://www.paddockspares.com/ I did not know they came with a reflector and side light bulb...

The wipac front sides and indicators from http://www.mudstuff.co.uk/

Bulbs were Philips H4 extreme vision with side light bulbs (handy)

This job I have to say took me 4 hours !! not rushing it at all and a helper (if you can call a 5 year old that). I did however clean / polish the bits I took off and behind them and also sprayed ACF50 over bits while all apart. Pain was a side light in one headlamp not coming on when I tested it unfitted it did.....fitted it and it didn't !! so all apart again and an iffy crimp...

Anyway I'm more than happy with this, looks SO SO much cleaner, smarter. Oddly I've not fitted the Relay yet or the loom but all appears to work just fine? I have rear LED's on the way so will fit the relay tomorrow. I guess a trip to my local garage maybe required to set them correctly although I did try to refit the same (and being honest I think they were out anyway prior to changing)

Before...std lens? bulbs etc

One done with help from my right hand man.. (the sawdust is not due to my car leaking, its under a carport I'm using a saw table to cut sleepers)

I like the way the side lights not light up the headlamps, safer imho more to see.

Still need to fit..

Tools to do the job.

Happy with that Thumbs Up in fact so much so I'm not sure I will go LED headlamps just yet, and I was thinking of that route.

^ Cheap if just the wipac headlights..... but I haven't stopped there.

4 front lights (sides and indicators)
relay
8 rear lights (a spare fog and reversing lamp if I go 3 each side...)
plinths
cables
Loom
guards
ACF50

Its added up Smile but its safer so that's how I will get this passed Mrs Stacey007

Thumbs Up

I went the opposite way, I'd rather people seen me from behind on a dark night and fitted NAS rear lamps, and fitted them with the brightest LED's I could find Laughing
And swapped the indicator position with the tail/brake lights Thumbs Up

I didn't forget the fronts either, mind Whistle

Been mulling this mod over for a while, but now you've confirmed for me it's a must, especially now the winter months are setting in 2007 - Stornoway Grey 90 XS SW - Gone
2002 - Black Discovery II - Gone
2014 - Montalcino Red 110 XS SW

I wanted to upgrade before winter...

Its already dark around 7.30 so doesn't leave much time home from work in the evening to do and the clocks go back soon. To be honest though coming from a car with bi directional Xenon lights I don't find the lights too bad, I just wanted it to look better also Smile

I haven't done the loom as that worry's me...... Saying that I had to crimp wires together to join the side lights to the headlights, so that was also fun (I don't do electrics....) its in the boot....

All seems good though Smile

Passed just fine, as did the Disco 3 Thumbs Up
All the more reason for bloody bright lights Laughing

It is something that will be rectified during its rebuild though...

MOT testers don't always meet requirements. Whistle

Would 'E' marked reflective tape suffice instead? I'm guessing not and should really be a reflector. Diesel$ Live$ Matter. ⛽️🛢️👨‍🔧🧰⚙️ RED, WHITE & BOOST! 🇬🇧

There was no crimping of wires when I fitted mine other than putting a terminal on for the main power feed. The rest was a case of simply plugging in and picking up a couple of earth's for the headlights.

Are the headlights themselves actual Wipac and just repackaged in a box branded as Britpart "Super Crystals"?
Paddock's website is unclear what brand they are actually selling.

Mine were in Wipac boxes.

There are some versions with a pilot light too. Diesel$ Live$ Matter. ⛽️🛢️👨‍🔧🧰⚙️ RED, WHITE & BOOST! 🇬🇧
