Modular wheel offset 7" or 8"
Sorry if this has been asked before. Struggling to understand offset lol. Going to fit 265 75 16 cooper stt to black modulars. Don't know whether to buy 7" or 8" wheels. What will give me the better turning circle ?

With the same offset it shouldn't make any difference. Offset is the difference between the centre of the wheel and where it bolts on, so two wheels with different widths but the same offset will just be an equal amount wider both sides.

They will affect the sidewalls slightly differently but I don't think it will make any meaningful difference to the turning circle.

If you were ever considering fitting a wider tyre (like a 285) then the 8" wheel is probably a better bet. If you were more likely to go for a 235 or a 255 in future then possibly the 7".

What offset are the modulars you are buying?

If they have an offset of ET0 a set in the size of 16x8 will quite happily take tyre sizes from 235 up to 305/16 no problems and no adjustments required.

I am running 305 x 70 x 16 BFG KM2 tyres on a set of wheels with the offset ET0.

these are STT's in 265/75/16 on 7" 0 offset black modulars. I can confirm they sit just inside the standard arch eyebrows. You dont need 8" modulars for a 265 tyre. Turning circle is also fine.
