Jasmin a year of ownership / running updates
Well ok it's a little over a year but with my job I am away a lot.

As I bought her: soft top 90 wolf, few rust patches, no spare wheel mount.

Over the next few months I cleaned a lot of parts removing rust etc and got a few bits, spare wheel mount etc:

Not too long after I decided to "poke" the bulkhead:

Yep mite of "poked" a little too hard.

A little while later I finally tracked a hard top down....in Glasgow. This was also when I inspected my doors and windows and decided new ones were in order:

With all this apart I got the roll hoops out and wire brushed them adding some tough black paint, also fitted some sound deadening and my 110 rad haz kit (fits a 90 with some playing):

Then came an awesome deal on here, one nice pair of trucklites:

Now remember the holy bulkhead?

It got a little too bad to leave so a new one was in order:

Strip and rebuild:

And now once she is fully done:

Next up is some more interior bits once funds allow.

Really great to see a rebuild like this - faithful to the original idea but with good solid engineering underneath!

Nice job! Thumbs Up 2005 110 XS - Cairns Blue "Bertha" - Gone, and sorely missed

Really cool truck. Looking at one of the photos, is that a whole fleet you have there? Cool

Reminds me I need to try and fit my radhaz kit that's just been sitting in my house too..

Ok so a little update, today I finaly got round to making up a skirt and screen cover for her, this is to go with the newly aquiered cam net. Due to debute in full cam with a 9x9 on the back later in the year.

The reason behind the "skirt" is to assist in hiding the vehicle by discising the silhouette and making it appear as one solid block, this is of great use when couples to a trailer or wrapped around a truck as it can be hard to identify the size/type of vehicle. The front screen and windows are again covered to reduce shine/glare (yes I know there are proper kits but they cost money and I know this is how the army do it). Before I get told the back lights/window is exposed don't worry the 9x9 covers all of this and allows access to the rear whilst fitted.

Great work Mash i would love to own a Wolf Bow down looking forward to seeing some more progress.

I have two quick questions what are the rolls of cloth on light guards for i am guessing to hide glint or reflection off headlights when not in operation? And what did military use the two straps on leading edge of bonnet for? 1993 Defender 110 Ex Military soft top, with a long wishlist already

Rolls over the headlights are hessian sandbags, as you guessed to cover the headlights/sidelights etc to reduce shine.
The two straps on the front are for storage of the recovery strap, they can also be used to stow the exhaust extension pipe as issued to FFR wagons.

Any other questions just ask Thumbs Up 90 wolf - Jasmin http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic39408.html

Well the story continues, I do not know what the RAF used her for but I am now sure they where racing the RMs up the beach in her Rolling Eyes

The rear crossmember cover has been on the to-do list for a while now and as I have a few days at home on leave I thought I would have a go, then I started to poke at the rear chassis ................. Then out came the needle gun:

So today's job is weld up that, the other side is solid so not too sure why this has rotted this badly, the chassis leg did reveal a few sea shells so I think a new chassis (galvanised?) will be fitted once I finish the other project. 90 wolf - Jasmin http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic39408.html

Looks like it's been in the sea a few times, ah well better to find it and sort it out. Interesting to note when dealers are selling a Wolf they big up the strength of the chassis etc however hey will rot like a civvy Defender if not looked after and especially if they have been dunked in the sea.
