1st defender insurance.
Good evening
I am trying to get an idea of insurance costs before buying a 90 but am struggling as every car has different modifications and obviously the insurance company's want to know exactly what has been done to give a quote. I am 29, clean licence, no accidents but no no claims ( this will be a second car ) I just don't want to buy a car then get stung for a large premium.

Did you ever get your insurance sorted? I'm insured with Aviva who charged me about £1500 on a 1985 110 when I was 17. Having the vehicle registered and therefore insured as a van makes it a lot cheaper. When looking for a Defender 110 station wagon I found that lots registered in the 90's were registered as vans.

I also have my father as a second driver (even though he isn't even aloud into the drivers seat) which knocked £100 off if I recall correctly. Lastly listing a yearly mileage should help bring costs down, mine is 6000, I surpass it every year but my insurance doesn't appear to be affected. 1999 Land Rover Defender 110 td5 station wagon
