Sorry to drag this off topic, but it might be related if the OP gets wolf wheels...

What torque are you guys pushing on your nuts? Any lube, copper grease etc. on the threads or the er, 'rounded' surface? or just clean and dry ? Solved the bowel problem, working on the consonants...

I am going to order the wolf wheels, just need to sort tyres. Would 265/75r16 work on the 6.5 wide rims? Interested to know the answer to above as well.

FWIW (not much?) I had a 235/85 fitted to a LR genuine wolf wheel today and rolling it out and heaving on to the spare carrier gives me a weee bit of insight to this >> I really cant see another 30mm being an issue... Solved the bowel problem, working on the consonants...

If you look at the specs that manufacturers provide for their tyres, the widest you can fit on a 6.5" rim is 255/85.
265/75 asks for a 7".

Not to say it's not possible, people put 235s on the 5.5 steel wheels and that's out of spec too.

On Puma-engined Defenders, aircon was standard only on XS models. On all other models (County and below) a/c was a build-time (factory-fitted) option.

Many, many Pumas do not have aircon.

After a bit more reading and shopping I now have a list of bits to sell / swap. Eg, I would like to exchange the raised suspension for standard kit. Am I aloud to put up swaps in the sale area??

Just to add, I'm running standard length studs on my wolfs (wolves??). Regards to torque, I honestly have no idea, I did them up fairly tight, had no troubles after a couple of hundred miles Thumbs Up . I did put a load of copper grease on the nuts and studs in the hope they'll come off easy when necessary.

Also to add: As mentioned in other threads, the shorter studs mean the ends are protected by the nuts so the thread doesn't get damaged. Matt.

From memory on clean dry threads it's something like 110Nm for steels and 130Nm for alloys. Despite all the b*ll*cks I still copper slip my hub mating faces and the threads and yet have never ever had one come loose or even begin to work.

This wouldn't be the same lany I walked past and had a good look around today parked up just down the road from a chippy? It does look very nice so far Thumbs Up

On the topic of Wolf rims they are to be torqued to 170nm on the Wolf fleet and also the old 90/110 fleet that never had the longer studs fitted, it looked wrong to see a nut with visible threads as the stud did not even come flush. There was as part of the retro fit a small plaque that was riveted into the cab "Wolf rims fitted torque to 170nm"

Yes, the knee warmers. If you fiddle around with the heater settings some air should eventually trickle out of them.
