0234 Turbo Overboost
After I've been driving an hour or so, seemingly when I'm going downhill my car goes in to limp and the ultrgauge (usually) comes up with error 0234 which my IIDTool says is Turbo Overboost.

Any idea what I should be looking at?

Other symptoms are that is sometimes sounds a bit rough/rattly under partial throttle although some days is really quiet, and there's a dead spot around 2300 rpm when you're accelerating.

EGR is disabled.

VCV?

Maybe a stiffy linkage/motor adjustment of turbo-guide vanes?

Turbo linkage would be worth checking.

Hello,
Just had the same problem with my new to me 2008 90,when accelerating uphill the revs dropped and speed was limited to 30mph. The garage did tell me when I bought it that it was a potential issue that may improve with use ( it had been dried stored for 3 years prior to refurbishment ), it didn't, so they had it back and replaced the turbo with a new one, the power is now where it should be.
Hope this helps
Paul
