My brother has always been into cars and whilst on a scavenge round the scrap yards of Bilston we found an XR2 with the usual front end rot, which had been revealed after running into something else (another usual issue). My brother spent the next 6 months getting it sorted, had a private plate for Christmas and then had 12 months to wait until he was 17 so Mom said she'd use it as a daily runabout. 24hrs later it had been nicked, so it was replaced with first a red one (seriously terminal tin worm issue) and then this one.

Again new front end needed, duly sorted, repainted by the local Ford dealer where my brother then worked, but he then decided he wanted an Escort so I bought it. That was 1998. I used it for 4 years, had the sills arches and doors replaced and then I moved upto an XR4x4 (still have that too Embarassed ) and it sat in a number of different places waiting for the recommissioning to commence.

This is how she looked 18 months ago when we moved her to my brothers garage, new panels purchased ready for the start of a long project. Started first flick of the key with a booster pack on which was surprising.

Anyway, pepper pots will always be cool to my generation Rolling with laughter
