Defender Order

Hi All,

Been lurking around the site for a little while. I finally decided to go ahead with an order for a Defender 90 XS SW a few weeks ago. I've paid my deposit and put in the order with my dealer however the dealer told me that all the Defender orders were currently going into a 'pool' at the moment as Land Rover had not confirmed build schedules of dates. So at the moment the dealer is unable to confirm when my 90 would be built or even if Land Rover will decide to build these. Has anyone else recently ordered and been told a similar story? I dont mind the build taking a long time as long as I am guaranteed a vehicle. At the moment I just dont know if I'd even get one.

Thank you for your post.

I note your comments and must advise that the final date for our retailers to submit orders for Defender of 26th June 2015 has now passed. Production of the current Defender will cease in December 2015 and as such, availability may be limited.

I would recommend continuing to liaise with your retailer who should be able to confirm at which stage your order is at and ultimately, if your order has been submitted to Land Rover for build.

However, should you require any further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact me directly and I will be happy to help.

Hi Ryan,

Thanks for the email. I placed the order on the 19th so it was a week before the final date. The dealer has confirmed that they have placed the order but it is still in this 'pool' with no confirmation of build date. Do you know when Land Rover would be in a position to confirm?

I note your query and must advise that Land Rover have made no official announcement regarding an extension to Defender production past December 2015, therefore, I am unable to comment.

Our local dealer was saying exactly the same throughout June.
