2011 Defender 110 Puma 2.4 USW Stornoway Grey
having tried cool boxes i came to the conclusion that if i was going to give up the space for something to keep stuff cold it may as well do it properly which for me meant longer periods than what the coolbox would give.

Engel 45 for me. 6-7yrs old and going strong, used twice a month over the summer months. Cheers

It would get used a lot in a year

This in combination with something like an Icy Tek would probably drive me mad!
Seriously, if using it a lot you might end up using it daily if you invest in a proper fridge and with today's euro conversion it's a great time for UK people to buy in Europe. Cool

We cant speak highly enough of the National Luna fridges. We use them at all our trade events, in our trailers, even in our kitchen at home!

They are superb!

Depending on the space you have available obviously depends on which one we would recommend but you can find out more about all the National Luna fridges we offer HERE

The Indel B fridges are great as well if your budget can't span to a National Luna.

Below is a quick overview of some of the features of some of the smaller National Luna fridges.

Hey, sorry to go quite like that!

I suddenly got busy and the little one wanted constant attention Rolling Eyes

Thanks for all the replies, it's always appreciated.

After some thought and sticking some bits I don't use up for sale I went for the Engel from Amazon (Thanks Tookaphotoof)
I even got SHMBO to agree!!!!

With the exchange rate it came in under the £400 mark , but with the bits I sold it'll be around my budget.

We used it this weekend camping with my sister and it was such a godsend! It kept the beer lovely and cold Rolling with laughter

Now I've got it, where does everybody put there's in the defender?

I have a double cab, I managed to strap it down and wedge it the back this weekend, but I would like something better.

I did some reaserch and found a couple of ideas, one that I'm thinking about is taking out the 40 split and mounting it. This is a bracket I found on the web that I'll try to Build and get someone to weld. Then I can swap it in and out as needed.

Has anybody doe anything similar? And in a TD5, I think this was going in a puma.

Thanks for the help 2006 Defender Double Cab- Zambezi Silver

Or something like this?

Mr. Green

Before I went for this set up, if you take out the 40 part of the seat, And some L profile strips, you can fix those at the rear at the same bolts that mount the seat box. On the front of the seat box you can then mount a larger L profile (higher to keep the cool box level). On top I had a plywood with a strip that prevented the cool box going any side at all.
The box itself was tied down with one clamping strap at the front handle that holds it down and and one clamping strap at the rear handle behing the metal support bar of the defender to prevent it going to the front in case of an accident.

I can have a look if I have photos of the previous install.

That looks good mate. Thumbs Up

That would mean buying 2 seats though, but saying that I do want to retrofit the puma rear seats at some point.

I'd be interested in the original fit photos if you have them handy, I want it all bolted down and strapped in as my little one is in there with me. Should the worst happen I'd like it all to stay put.
