Not any more, that was when you still had to!

I see no point whatsoever paying good money to get someone who knows virtually nothing about a vehicle of that era to tell me the wheelnuts are back-to-front, or asking me how to start the engine, or where is the switch for the wipers! Where's the filler cap was another classic.

Lots of small bits going back on; nearside bulkhead to chassis bracket, bulkhead tie bar, throttle linkage, choke assembly and starter button:

The choke panel scrubbed up well and is a decent colour match with the new paint:

Jubilee clips binned and replaced with the correct double wire hose clips:

And I've put a few galvanised bits back on as they came off:

Loving this build.
Interesting that you put the galv parts on as you took them off.
I'm leaving my galv cappings as is, it does give it a more patina'd look, as new galv does look a little bit 'blingy'.

I like your hose clips Cool

The last place that oil was obviously escaping from (I'm sure there will be others):

Thanks fellas!

I got all the oils in over the weekend and will hopefully get the correct wiring harness from Autosparks this week, so it's getting close to being started again. Once the brakes are bled and the props back on, I dare say it will go for a sort shakedown up the road.

With the wiring done, I can then start to re-attach the bodywork and it will suddenly start to look finished.

Had another to paint or not to paint dilemma and in the end decided to paint the radiator cowling as it was towards the rusty end of the patina scale, but not the steering column bracket:
