As an alternative have you considered one of these 'Eyourlife 50" 324w 108Leds Cree Led Work Light Bar Spot Flood Combo Off Road'.

This light bar came out top on the best Cree led light bar tests. And i spent weeks searching the internet for the best Light Bar to buy. I bought one a year ago for my Narrow boat and it is perfect. solid construction and the light output is phenomenal, I am sure you can see it from space Smile I can really recommend this light bar.

I bought mine from Amazon for £123.99

Ive often looked at these on Amazon and wondered how good they are. Do you have any pics in the dark with it on and off vs normal headlights? They look amazing value for money! Thumbs Up

I am sorry I do not have any pictures. I bought the light bar to enable me to use my narrow boat at night. All I can say is that the light bar has performed flawlessly, being fitted to a narrow boat the conditions are a bit more harsh than on a Defender such as the damp, banging into locks Embarassed etc and the bar has stood up to it all. The light output is fantastic it more or less turn night into day.
As for value I do not think there is anything to beat it and for £123.99 its incredible value. In tests it outperformed many of the leading names who to be honest charge the earth for pretty much the same thing, I think you pay a huge premium for the name printed on some light bars. For those who like Welsh Mountains and narrow boats have a look at my videos and photos at..

Eyourlife looks interesting but couldn't find any details on the actual LEDs used. OK they are CREE but which ones?

Cree Leds are fitted to the light bar

LED Power:300W 30000LM
Operating Voltage: 10-30 DC
Waterproof rate: IP 67
100pcs*3w high intensity LEDS
Body Color: Black,Light Color: White
Color Temperature: 6000K
Material:Diecast aluminum housing
Lens material:Toughed glass
Mounting Bracket: Alu firm bracket
30000 hours above life time
Beam:Flood beam pattern(60 degree), 30 degee spot beam optional
The total length is about 51 inch (130cm).

Typical review

I was hesitant to buy this because usually the cheap light bars don't put out very much light. But this 50" light bar puts out as much light as my buddies 50" rigid. I would definitely recommend this bar to a friend. The construction of the bar seems to be fairly sturdy as well. For those who like Welsh Mountains and narrow boats have a look at my videos and photos at..

Saying CREE lights is the equivlent to saying say Goodyear tyres but not saying what model etc. Is there no further info in the box they came in.

Not saying they are not good but to understand whether they are value for money then it would help to understand exactly what they are.

All that is printed on the specification sheet is 100 pieces 3W high intensity CREE LEDs

All I can say is that I have been pleased with this light bar and its light output, virtually all reviews give it five stars and I have not read any bad reviews of the product.

Various web sites who have tested light bars Eyourlife have come out best, maybe Rigid industries are better made but at £1,174.67 for a 50 inch version they should be.

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Rigid-Industries-1...+Light+Bar

One other factor I was looking for is that if the light bar should be stolen it is not that expensive to replace, I also felt that fitting a light bar costing over a grand I could not justify the price

I have looked at many light bars, including Rigid industries and as far as I can tell none give a full descriptive breakdown on the type of Cree's they fit. For those who like Welsh Mountains and narrow boats have a look at my videos and photos at..

Thanks Thumbs Up

I was venting my frustration with manufacturers/vendors rather than you.

I'm off to measure up the space at the front of my rack to see where one would fit.

Did you get the Ali or stainless steel brackets?

The brackets are aluminium. I used all stainless fasteners. Mine came with a wiring harness and relays. I am sure the relays were fine however I did replace them with Durite ones I had, as I am very fussy when it comes to relays. For those who like Welsh Mountains and narrow boats have a look at my videos and photos at..
