Hi all
I'm after some advice please as we're off to North Wales on Sat for a short break and am taking the LR ( its the obvious choice to take dear) and would like to do some gentle non damaging laning.
Can anyone suggest any lanes that fit the bill or any places worth visiting
Oh yeh, we're staying in Machynlleth, Gwynedd

Thanks
Mark

Lanes worth doing:

Close by:
Bomber Lane - Nr. Barmouth, easy going.
Happy Valley - Nr. Machynlleth, fun challenging rocky terrain but un-damaging.

There's a load around Nant-y-Moch but don't know details on them as not been yet.

Further North:
Wayfarer - Nr. Llangollen, long, mostly easy but some more challenging bits here and there. Gets tight at the Llandrillo end for larger trucks, but can be avoided by coming off/entering at a further point on the lane.
Corwen Carwash - Nr. Corwen...! Short, but good wide river crossing, can be tackled in any LR unless weather has been very wet.

Further South:
Strata Florida - Nr. Builth Wells, long, some challenging bits and river crossings (deep in bad weather).

There's plenty more but those are I know of and worth doing. Pete

Thanks for the info Pete,

I've armed myself with some (11) O.S. maps in preparation for tomorrow but don't expect we'll do all lanes but hopefully we'll do a few travelling between places.
It'll also give my oh a chance to drive the 90 as she's not too confident in it and only really drove it Weds night as I said about taking it away and we thought she should give it a go, after which she said she didn't enjoy driving it, it wasn't comfortable, she couldn't reach the steering wheel and it was clunky and slow.
Apart from that it went really well (and can only get better) so a bit of driving while we're away will be good.
We're also going to Rockingham Castle for my half day LR Experience enroute home on Thurs so that should be good for her too.
Thanks once again Pete and if anyone else has anything to add please feel free.

Mark

Trailwise has all the lanes.

Join GLASS for better searching, and you will help save some lanes as well.
