33's on a 2,2 130CCHCPU
Hi there,

Wondering how much of a negative effect 33" tyres will have on my 130 (2012 model)?

Things like fuel consumption, power/gearing, stress on drivetrain etc...

no expert, but i cant see a problem. plenty on here are running standard trucks with 255 85 16s! Thumbs Up My 109 thread

It will be slightly slower off the mark. It will take a little longer to pull up. Fuel consumption will go up a little bit, and it won't hold itself on a hill as well as 32's. Given all that one does get aquatinted to it. Remap it and the power loss issues tend to fad away.

Given a 130 come standard with 31's, 90's and 110's with alloys have 32's, my guess 33's don't put that much more stress on the drive line, however 33's are usually as big as you can go before chaining diff ratios so it all works happily again. Well that my understanding. My Defender and travels

Ireland 2009 Defender 110 Puma 2.4 HCPU Cairns Blue
265/75s will fit on a wolf rim. See pic below. I wouldn't go any wider,

255/85 fit nicely too if you want to fill the arches but will raise your gearing a tad.

But the Wheel and Tyre Police will tell you 235s on a 6.5 rim is the max. Rolling Eyes

on 255 you will hear a grr-rr-rr-rr-rr on full lock. Just the tyre touching the radium arm, but you know your getting best out of it. My Defender and travels

Got them on my 110, about to fit to my 90. They just look right Thumbs Up

I can confirm 265/75/16 will fit on Wolf rims - if its ok for the electricity board then it must be ok Thumbs Up

Any tricks on lessening the turning circle? Will do a search shortly Wink

HI Maml.
I'm running 305/70/16s which are equiv to 33 inches.
Got them on ET0 offset wheels and as a result have been able to adjust the steering stops for a much better lock without catching the radius arms. Turning circle is now way better than standard.
I've had a remap done so don't really notice the slight increase in gearing, in fact I've had the disco transfer gears fitted and it still accelerates like stink Smile

Pulled the trigger on some 255's...found a local supplier who keeps stock.
Hopefully fitted this week. So stoked!

Turning circle is actually slightly better - will fit spacers at a later stage.
