United Kingdom 1996 Defender 110 300 Tdi SW Alveston Red
Light off-roading in South/Mid wales
Plan to take my standard 110 300tdi there over the spring to get off the beaten track with the kids and do some camping. Any recommendations on light off road trails/areas to go to wet the appetite for tougher trails and upgrading the landie later in the year?

Try the Trailwise website http://www.trailwise.org.uk/ You can search the maps as a visitor but the search radius is fairly small, it opens out for full members. The easiest way to get an idea is to peruse the OS maps of the areas you're interested in and look for the UCR's and Byways that are marked. Once you have an idea of the area then there's plenty of us on here that can give you pointers to the suitability of the lanes you're thinking of. I lane quite frequently in Mid to North Wales and if that's the area you're thinking of, can give you some pointers.
