This has got me thinking about it all day (yes, I need to get out more!)

I've had 3 cars with arm mounted washer jets. Jag XK, Jag XJ and by far the best........

.......Peugeot 405! The jet was a long plastic pipe with (if I remember correctly) 5 jets. On a Defender I should imagine this will cover the whole screen.

So I spent a bit of time this afternoon locating some 405s at a breakers, I've managed to get a pair of the clip on jets for £10, so looking forward to getting these fitted. Craig Rogers

The only concern with the modified plastic nozzle is that sometimes when it freezes, the standard nozzle just pops off the stub. This was one of the reasons I modified in the first place using a rubber hose over the stud with a tiny hose clip. The "normal" connection is quite pathetic - a plastic-to-plastic push fit over a few mm... either you can't get it off or it pops off by itself Rolling Eyes Tell someone you love them today because life is short.
But shout it at them in German because life is also terrifying and confusing...

I'm planning on removing the end of the standard jets (the bit that normally falls off) and bonding a t-piece directly into the stub remaining. To cover it up, I will place small piece of convoluted trunking over it. Craig Rogers

Typical! Rolling Eyes

Drove the truck this morning for a change due to the predicted snow later. Press the windscreen wash and, yes you've guessed it, the jets flew away! Craig Rogers
