One for the Londoners on here
So today I had a few hours spare so decided to treat the 110 to a bit of a scrub up.
After a bit of a look online I found this place:http://www.poshwashlondon.co.uk

It's on park lane (ooh aah) so you can avoid entering the congestion zone.

What a fantastic place!

This is what I went for:
- full wash, shampoo, rinse, wax, hand dry on the outside
- wheels and tyres properly detailed (not just paint on gloop!)
- Hoover inside, mats taken out and cleaned as well as windows, doors, steering wheel, dash etc properly cleaned inside.

It's left the 110 looking factory fresh, honestly! If forgotten the subtle beauty and metal flake of Santorini black, it looks like a different vehicle!

I watched for a bit and they used all new looking cloths, separate buckets, full snow foam shampoo and super clean brushes. Not a smear or whirl mark on the vehicle, and the black is the deepest I've ever seen it.

And what would this cost you? In central London for undoubtedly a 'large car'?

£20. Yes £20!

Furthermore to all this, being in London's "supercar district" there were lambos, ferraris, 911s, AMG SLS's, G-Wagens, bentleys, rolls royces etc all there to ogle at!

And then you can just wander over towards Marble Arch for an hour or leave it with them however you like. (Probably cheaper than parking in W1 anyway!

Hugely recommend it then, will definitely go back! Bow down Cheers, David

Best car there David Thumbs Up

Next time I highly recommend enjoying a jar at the Grenadier on Wilton Crescent Mews (just off Hyde Park Corner).

And definitely cheaper than parking anywhere in W1.

Good find. Bow down Monsieur Le Grenadier

Really?

Lots of immaculate £100,000+ cars there. And mine looks the dogs danglies if I say so myself.

Not tried their wheel refub or wrapping services though obviously. Cheers, David

Think you may be missing the point here, aren't they a central London car wash for £20 as opposed to a full on clay bar etc detailer?

Standards & prices are totally different!

Cheap parking is also a side bonus! Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?

No Im not missing the point

I see on a daily basis what damage these type of outlets can do its nothing to do with detailing

Its about the chemicals used on what surface acidic an alkali types, Davids already pointed out they appear to use clean cloths
Cheap parking at what cost your car your choice

That said to find Defender parking is a bonus Thumbs Up and very often you'll come back to a damaged car in London

I'm not knocking the Twenty pound deal at all,.....but I wouldn't take ny of my cars to a place like that.
For an ordinary user, whose not really passionate about their car, these deals may be Ok, & in this world "ya gets what ya pays for", and obviously twenty pounds is good value.
However, like others, I've see how some of these places work, and the damage they can do whilst "cleaning", so I won't use 'em.
But I'm glad it worked for you.
Pickles.

Totally agree Ken & Pickles!!!
We have a mobile detailer who looks after our cars, I'm a fussy beggar and it's taken me ages to find someone as anal as myself, would never dream of letting roadside "valeters" loose on my car! 2014 110 2.2TDCi XS Station wagon

Get what you're saying guys. And usually I'd agree with you.

But they honestly did an excellent job, the best anyone has ever done to my 110 by a way. There's a beautiful deep black appearance to the car now, and absolutely no swirl marks or whatever- got a chance to properly inspect it today in the light.

They had lots of clean cloths which they used, and lots of separate buckets with clean and dirty water etc. sounds simple but many don't!

I know that usually you get what you pay for but they honestly did just spend 40mins to an hour or so meticulously cleaning the 110 and they did an excellent job!

Don't know what more to say! Not sure why it only cost £20 tbh!

Even the job on the inside, no greasy or wet surfaces, just a nice clean car Thumbs Up Cheers, David

Hi David

As long as you're happy with the quality of the job, that's what counts.

Can't argue with the fact at £20 it's great value to get your car parked securely and off street Thumbs Up

Yeah, don't want to sound naïve, and I know the difference between a £10-20 wash and a £100+ detailing.

But just thought it would be useful to others to know that they do a good hand wash/wax, don't ruin your car, don't break the bank and you'll be in some interesting company.

This pic gives a good idea of the setup. Worth a drop in at least if you're in central London. (Unless you have a roof rack!)
