Exact amount of Oil for change

The manuals says 7 liters, but I seem to have ordered american volume which was 7 bottles (US quarts) = 945 ml each.
I see also that from min to max on the dipstick is listed at 2 liters.
Will I get away with 6,6 litres to a decent level on the dipstick?

p.s the oil I have is hard to come by with costs to courier.

Might be tight. I did a 5000km change - didn't change the oil filter - and used a very little less than 6L.

The filter seems to take very little though.
Did you fill to the middle of the dipstick or max?

A relevant hijack of this thread (sorry)

Has the sump change changed the quantity required?

I only ask as it seems smaller?

I filled to the top of the dipstick

Also I must admit the sump change does make me wonder if the oil quantity is less. I have the new sump on mine from the beginning. Just looking at the difference from the pictures posted though I suspect it might have only reduced the sump capacity by 100-200mL.

I just change the oil to my defender with the new sump (top of the dipstick) I bought 2 bottles of 5 lt each as far as I see I used around 1 1/2 or a little bit less, that means 7 liters app.

Regarding mse question, no, as dm_td5 said dont change too much. 100 - 200 ml should be a ggod figure.

Cheers!

Thanks ED

Mine runs at half mark on the dipstick as I got it from the dealer. (all my cars I have always kept half full)

This means I should only use 6 liters as the volume between empty and full on dipstick is listed as 2 liters.
I have 6,6 litres so in theory should be ok.

I will order one extra bottle for top ups though.

Thanks 4 help guys

James
