I think if the bean counters at JLR got their way they would get rid of the name Land Rover in favour of Range Rover. After Defender production ceases how many Land Rover models will be in production compared to Range Rover. 90 300 TDI SW (sold)

From what I read in the paper today, "Land Rover have shelved plans to stop defender production, just going to move it to a non EU country"

I enjoyed that, thank you for sharing.

Unfortunately they will keep the defender name and bring out a family of products that fit that particular sales/marketing/product vertical. But when you tell people you drive a Land Rover, they know exactly what you've got. It's not the defender brand that should be a worry to JLR, it's the Land Rover brand. I visited a showroom yesterday and besides the defender, the only other product I could relate to was the disco. I hope the new version of this doesn't go the same way as the recent incarnations.
