I suggested rust proofing the insides of the steps in a PM to you 
My weapon of choice is Dinitrol. Tried Waxoyl and I just can't get on with it. You are in the motor trade so you may also be able to get Kent cavity wax. My local body shop sprayed some new doors for my TD5 and gave me a can of Kent cavity wax to treat the inside of the doors when I fitted them and it did flow well and had very good adhesion once on the metalwork. Dinitol do a 500ml can of cavity wax with a spray tube so was thinking of getting that. I'll have a look though at the other product you've suggested. |

I'm sure Bob already mentioned it it Dinitrol do a long draw straw for internals with a 360 degree spray.
You push it in as far as it'll go, then draw it back spraying from the can to give an even coat inside. |

Been to collect them this morning and really pleased.
Basically the chap's father runs a well known LR Specialist local to me and they both participate in the Defender Challenge. |

The picture below shows what will happen to your side steps if you don't rust proof them internally, I removed mine last year to have them re powder coated and this what I found !

I assume they were fitted when new in 2005 I removed them last year so eight years old ! 2005 Td5 90 XS

Ok, so a final question guys, I have the Dinitrol and the long straw for spraying into cavities.
A couple of questions. 1) Would you spray once they are installed on the car or before? 2) How do I know when I've sprayed enough inside and got good coverage? |

Remove end caps before fitting, then fit and then Dinitrol.
That's what I'd do anyway, if you do it before it might be more messy thnk need be. The mount is just judgement. |
