Isle of White...Exciting times. Laughing

That would have made page 2 coming second to the 'Dawn Breaks Again This Morning' headline on page 1.

I don't really understand with this kind of reporting why there is a specific mention that a "blue Land Rover Defender" has collided with the bus shelter, but (almost as an afterthought) it is stated that another vehicle was involved and that it was "a van". Why not the same leverl of details - a "white Ford Transit" or whatever?

Is it somehow worse that it is a "Land Rover Defender"? Perhaps it is news-worthy because there are accidents involving "vans" everyday, but rarely those involving "Land Rover Defenders". Wierd!

I suppose that it is more likely that the sloppy level of reporting (and the widespread inability to write proper English!) we've come to expect is the result of incompetents having infiltrated that industry, just as they have most others. Big Cry

I wonder what the front of the defender was like ?
As long as it didn't have its original swiss cheese bumper it should be ok.

Most of the 'Islanders' have trouble writing I am led to believe....It's a bit like Portland I think it has something to do with evolution and the presence of a second thumb!

Rolling with laughter

No offence meant to 'Isle of Whiters' but Portlanders you know it's true! Laughing If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!!

If you are going to take the pi55 out of Islanders, at least spell Isle of WIGHT correctly!

I still never cease to be amazed at what makes the news down here!

A very good friend of mine lives on the IoW, and he always refers to it as "the South Island". In his mind I live (in Dorset) on "the North Island". Thumbs Up

Quite a few IoW residents refer the South and North Islands

Theres is only one short length of Dual Crriageway down here that the locals refer to as "The Motorway"

Its a great place!
