My favourite forecast is what the BBC seem to keep saying:

The only problem with snow, which is one that seems to be increasing year on year, is that nowadays the other drivers on the road are so gormless that the seem to think that they can still drive around unaffected by snow, and as a result cause massive jams and congestion, when really they should heed the advice of the authorities and stay at home.
It doesn't help having 4WD, suitable tyres, tyre chains etc one iota when you're hopeless stuck in a massive jam, and sometimes it simply isn't possible to avoid the main, congested, roads. I also now get increasing fed up with Johnny (or Joanna) Eurobox-Driver assuming that I will tow them out of trouble as though I have some obligation to do so, when they are too stupid to realise that the conditions are far too difficult for their puny abilities and haven't even put even the basic essential equipment in the car. Maybe this should be in the Grumpy Old Git thread! |

Unfortunately it's not only the gormless gits in euro boxes that think they can go anywhere in the snow I've had a Disco 3 driver blast past me in my old Diesel turbo 90 on a country road and loose the arse end on a bend and then realise that when it goes tits up with a big motor you had better have some quick reactions and a roll of loo paper handy. I caught this particular guy up about a mile further down the road and passed him he looked scared to death. Any idiot can put his foot to the floor and make the motor go fast but how many have the reactions and knowledge of what to do when it does go wrong?
mate of mine told me yesterday that we are going to have the worst winter for 100 years and that we would be getting 10 foot of snow better get meself of to the supermarket then, Now who mentioned something about Grumpy Old Gits? Uncas |

We can but hope! If there is enough snow, even the halfwits will stay home and we can then enjoy it in the way we used to be able to in the good old days!  |
