TDI wing air intake cover/vent location dimensions needed
HI all

I am about to cut a hole in my wing.....................as I have gone from a V8 to a 300tdi

Can anyone supply the dimensions of where the air intake is that is on the side of the wing for a TDI. I have all of the bits but would like some guidance on hacking my wing.

My other option (#2) is the get a snow cowl and pull the air intake from the top of the wing where the heater pulls its fresh air

Thoughts on option #2?

Thanks

I'm not sure what your sheet metal work is like ? But it's not just a hole - it has a recesses flange that holds the mounting points and is pressed into sheet.

It may be worth buying a new outer wing like this one ?

On the snow cowl : I would think the CSA would be too small and the airflow would be too restrictive for the engine.

Another option would be a snorkel through the wing top ?

Anderzane. Thanks. I think cost shipping to Canada is going to kill this option

Rob. I did see that option from Zedefender. i considered this option and am still on the fence

I dry fitted everything yesterday and it looks like it might work better than I originally though. Just need to cut that hole (and recess the sides.....)
