Roof Bags
Can anyone recommend waterproof roof bags, we have a kamei box, but it will not fit the roofrack, without buying extra cross bars, then would need to take step ladders to access it Confused Jumped ship to reliability - Mitsubishi L200

D3 - 2.7 S x2 (both Sold)

Yes - Rhino Rack bags - we use the rack, mesh platform and bag combo...
Buying it all was a bit expensive upfront, but it's quality stuff, it's been well tested with us & we're very pleased with it.
I went bag over box as it's great to pull the whole thing off the roof to pack/unpack in the tent, and then roll-up for storage both at home & away.

We have the aero bars, the medium flat mesh platform (prefer this to the basket-type, as when the bag is taken off it has less height, and you can still strap such things as a hired kayak to it), and the medium bag.

We put the lighter, bulky camping stuff in it, like table, chairs & sleeping bags. Belts & braces for the bags - they are in Ortlieb stuff sacks, but we're never found any wet inside the main bag.

EDIT: just looked at the box - we actually have the 'small' bag, which I must have decided was big enough for us - it folds back into a cardboard box 38x33x15cm - a bit easier to store than a roofbox!

Front Runner also do roof rack bags but think they are specifically sized for Wolf Boxes. Maybe worth an enquiry or two?

I bought two 120 litre bags by Caribee, (smaller sizes available) seem to be made from a thick Butyl type material, very spacious with a roll over top closure system which is secure by nylon clasps.
They went onto my frontrunner rack with bungees and a couple of ratchet straps.
Endured a torrential downpour en route to Skye last month, contents bone dry.
Heavy when loaded up so be careful when mounting and dismounting from the rack.
Around the £50 mark each if I remember rightly.
Only used for two trips so far but seem fine to me, plus I would think they would be easy to repair if torn or split.
