I've had mine on for 2 years and 9,000 miles with the majority of the mileage off tarmac. Just had a look at mine and there's no sign of cracking or degradation.

It could be (as mentioned) pressures (mine are 32F/35R) or as both tyres in question are on the same side then perhaps they've been subjected to a chemical whilst on the road that's reacted with the rubber?

Worth asking the supplier (or perhaps Andy AJS) can advise if BFG are aware of customer issues with the KM2's and if so is there a goodwill process in place?

Just went to check mine... BF Mud KM2

17000km and allready showing cracks on the back tyres! Shocked The ones I had on my 90, (the old BF Mud) only started to show these signs about 45000km of use ... Neutral Regards

Doubt constant high speed, we cover lots of miles for hour after hour and have had no issues. 130's have feeling's as well you know Smile

Mine have 40k on and are wearing well but you have way more tread if you want to swap Very Happy
Hope you get it resolved though Thumbs Up

As a previous tyre developer and being a polymer chemist I can offer an informed opinion.
Although there are reasons why a tyre may chemically craze or crack the pictures supplied illustrate typical hard cornering damage which is especially prevalent on new tyres with a block tread pattern. it should diminish as further wear takes place.

I am in a hot climate with around 50,000km on mine with no signs of cracking other than when I have not reduced air pressure over rocks.

Any problem you think you have go see a tyre dealer for advice.

Looking at the photos I would look at tyre pressure and driving style.

My gut feeling as we can only see photos is "if" they were sent back for inspection the letter would read............ No fault found. Andy.
