Well - I am absolutely delighted with mine.

Usual Nakatanenga build quality, smooth and quick transaction with Brendan, speedy delivery Thumbs Up

It sets the spare wheel slightly lower and to the right, improving vision thru the rear window, and making the door handle more accessible - really good Thumbs Up

Here's some piccies:

The overall look:

and one of the bracket against the back door:

If I was being really picky, the instructions could be better, but the carrier went together lovely, and was easy to fit. Took about 2 hours and that included removing my bumperette on the RHS.

I'll need to modify the Safari Equipe bumperette, it doesn't quite fit, but some time ith the angle grinder, and possibly re-finishing will get it back in place.

Very impressed Smile Defender "Puma" 2.4 110 County Utility (possibly the last of the 2.4's)

Does anybody have (or would mind taking) a square-on pic from behind with the Nak wheel carrier? I'd like to see how far it moves the wheel over to the offside. I quite like the standard position of the spare wheel in the middle of the back end, and I know that some wheel carriers shift it quite considerably over to one side. If anyone could assist, that would be great. 2005 Td5 | 90 Station Wagon | Tonga Green

The wheel carrier moves the wheel about 40mm to the offside.

Running 255/85/16 clears the rear lights by about the same IIRC.

PLEASE NOTE deposits need to be paid be midnight on Monday 30th June. This offer closes then.

Prices will be going up in September

These stainless wheel carriers have been selling like hot cakes. There is a large number on back order and this month production order has been doubled.

We were expecting delivery mid July, however it is looking like end of July now. Apologies about this delay. If this is going to cause anyone a problem just email Barbara@4x4overlander.com and she will refund your money.

I will try to twist that strong Germanic arm so that we get some of the first ones to come through. Peter must be getting fed up with Chinese burns! Whistle Whistle Rolling with laughter

This wheel carrier has proved a lot more popular then anticipated.

Just seen the size of the pallets that are on their way from Germany so be warned I will be wanting Brendan to get rid of them all soon as I don't think the shelves will take the weight.
Invoices for final payments will be coming out later today after I have been to the hairdressers - got to get priorities right Whistle Rolling with laughter

For those of you who have opened your wallets and let the moths fly free your wheel carriers should be delivered by UPS tomorrow. Razz

Please ensure that someone is available to sign for them.

Many thanks.

Edited to add.

Whereas we sell these wheel carriers as suitable for post 2002 vehicles, we have recently fitted one to the 1991 Project 90 of LRM. This involved removing the two offside tabs welded to the rear cross member which holes the bodywork on. The bodywork is then bolted through the main wheel carrier mounting plate. Dependent on the door you may/maynot have to drill 4 new holes through the door.

Should be an article on the wheel carrier in the October issue of LRM which goes to the printers tomorrow.

Well a few more should have been delivered today and some tomorrow.

So people should be busy fitting them this weekend Thumbs Up

Now whilst it is possible to fit an 02 version of this wheel carrier to a pre 02 Defender with a few modifications it is no longer necessary.

A pre 02 version is now available, but it will be a while before we have stock of this version.

A version suitable for PU/double cabs will be available in the next few months.
