Tdi Engined 130's?
Hi Guys,

Bit of a testing the water question - Are 200/300TDI engined 130's worth considering or are they underpowerd and sluggish compaired to TD5 or TDCI engined?

I ask this as a TDI owner so I'm very firmilliar with the engine, but realistic to its shortcomings.

Thank you in advance!

Dog

I have a 200tdi 127 tipper, went to scotland with 3tdi 90s in the summer, towing a 750kg boat, I was quiet happy at the front, back or middle of the convoy, obviously the extra weight takes a bit of shifting but a good tdi is well up to the job Thumbs Up

I have a 300tdi in my 130 with an Allard large intercooler, did a 9500mile trip around europe last summer and averaged 25 mpg and she was 3.2T loaded. cruises at a steady 65mph no bother with a disco1 transfer box fitted.

Mate of mine has a 300', and it pulls like a train all day long! I've got a 300Tdi 90, and the 130 isn't much different power wise! An engine to TDi for!

We have supplied many VGT turbo to our customer's, if you are looking for more drivability through the gears, we have very good feed back on these.

It will also benefit from tweaking the fuel pump. "Rafiki" 2007 110 STW - Rolling rebuild.

I'd be very interested to see a international 2.8. I hear they are based on the 300tdi but upgraded a bit?

If I find a good 130 TDI would be very interested in it Very Happy

I think it depends on the individual engine

My old 300tdi in my 110 was a cracker and more than a match for my current TD5
