You'll be planting a few leeks soon, I'm sure, and Defenders come with the odd leak anyway. Defenders are the way to go - eveyone loves them, min depreciation, min tyre wear, low insurance. A hidden gem.You should get a 110 XS with all discounts inc NFU for circa £25k. I had a D3 before like you, which was great, but a Defender is uber alles!
Oh, and ensure you get a dealer voucher for a LRE half day course, preferably at Eastnor, included in the deal...

Got my voucher I qulaified for farmer and grower and I do work on a farm

I joined last week as a countryside member for £30 with a Jewson discount code, how long does it take for your membership to come through before you can ring for the voucher? not that I hold up much hope of getting it!

Can anyone recommend a dealer to supply me with a new defender?

Strathstone in Cardiff have quoted me £23,600 for my 07 disco HSE Manual with 30k on the clock and offered me a 90xs for £25,600 if I can get hold of a 5% voucher....

As for your trade in, I am also trading in a D3, there is about 10% discount out there before the NUF discount, so I would say the 90XS at £25,600 after all the discount you have negotiated may have more room to come down. It just finding the right dealer

Dealerships are crying out for good D3's with service history etc so push hard, you will get there in the end

Ended up joining as a Planter Grower and got the voucher faxed directly to the dealer, Defender 90 xs arriving on the 27th

just gone on line to join and membership seems to have gone from c£175 to £275 ?

I phoned a month or 2 back - has it gone up that much? - I'll try phoning again later today.

also i notice it mentions you have to be a member for at least 3 months - that means 3 months from now land may have changed their deals and the voucher might not be valid?

Don't think the voucher is sent out until after the 3 months is up.

Just joined on advice from dealer, they have told me they don't mind waiting for the voucher, even though I'm picking up the car in a few weeks time.
