United Kingdom 2006 Defender 110 Td5 CSW Manual Epsom Green
IRB (Porny) Td5 tune up

I went to see Ian today, spent a couple of hours up there with his laptop (and drinking coffee and eating his biscuits... thanks Ian! )

I was running a 170bhp ish tune, but it turns out it wasn't really meant for my ECU, and had thrown up a dozen or so faults (none of them made the engine not run, it just wasn't "right") and it would misfire at max revs.

So Ian fired in a 190bhp tune and we did several road tests whilst trying different fuel maps until we agreed on the correct one (which was Ians first choice)

So, end result? a 110 that goes like a 110 shouldn't (and smoothly too!), but the best result is in combination with my new turbo, the 50~70 acceperation speeds are amazing.

Take a look at this video clip, my 110, 1.2:1 transfer box, 5th gear (and it's quite a heavy 110 too, cage, winch, nudge bar etc), this was just "putting my foot to the floor", no gear changes etc.

and this is 70 to 100.... yes, 100mph! in a 110! Cool Cool

Do you still hear anything? Whistle How are the power/torque curves?

Yes, mine isn't that noisy inside (it's all relative... it'a still a defender, so no the quietest place in to be!) as i bonded all the body parts together and have lots of rubber matting inside.

I don't know what the torque curves are of this tune, you'd have to ask Ian for that.

But "seat of pants" experience is good.
